In Bo3 graveyard hate isn’t the defecto trump vs Phoenix. They shift to crackling drake / young pyro. In Bo1 could be pretty impactful though as it’s more graveyard focused

​@@MTGJoeOh I'm not saying it's not a strong deck, it's just that with grave hate being useful against several decks it makes treasure cruise less ban worthy (since that's the only card you could really aim to ban in Phoenix).

Red feels really good cause of stuff like ferocidon hitting lifegain and young pyro too. Idk explorer/pioneer seems like a pretty fun format atm. I myself have been finding moderate success with an izzet ral spells matters deck oddly enough.

I would start with the 4 color list. I would be a bit concerned about painful manabase and prevalence of turn 2-3 combo decks. Could just go Abzan and play knight errant of EoS 3 drop since it tutors and sacs to silence opponents. Dewdrop cure could also be something to test, was good in Amalia combo

Rakdos Scam always shows up in the low to mid 50% win rate. The issue it has is that it relies on top decks, and so many decks are multi-for-1 value due to MH3 cards or leverage things like the one ring. Rakdos breach had largely fallen off but only recently popped up with the jund version. A lot of the success of the deck is from one content creator Ornithoper who played a lot of the archetype in the past. It is a deck that will on average have a suppressed win rate due to the complexity of the deck

ahh so this version today was on Karn board. Preface I haven't played much timeless belcher, mostly just historic version. The Karn version is interesting to me given it basically means you have more copies of belcher from the fetch, can search of hate pieces or mite or in grindy matchups one ring. If your opponent static prisons your belcher, karn can fetch it out from exile

Could be that since you won a lot last month you came in with a higher MMR and are facing tougher competition. The rakdos deck is also on everyone’s radar so more hate decks

Witherbloom is an interesting choice to consider. I think ripples is too slow, rather play grisly salvage

Can you adjust the manabase to support phlage?

@@MTGJoe phlage isn't really needed as against green it's too slow, against control it dies to everything and against mardu sac I already have a good matchup

with collector's vault you can discard emrakul and cast it for its reduce mana cost

from the folks I watch that play a lot of golgari, majority are off combo and have recently seen them a lot of the crime package version

stretches the manabase too much. Maybe in explorer version where you have more dual lands but you dont want to build the manabase to have non-red producing lands

Tempo based decks are usually harder to play. There is a broader range of results based on player skill. You see it in eternal formats with a deck like Izzet Phoenix as an example. Sometimes spells will line up well and it doesn’t matter but other times the sequencing plays a big impact on the game

I’ve seen some rabbits list with requisition raid to help vs lockdown. I mentioned in my pinned comment, for some reason untapped is not showing Boros tokens in any fashion. Going to raise a ticket with the team tomorrow when they are back in the office

@@MTGJoe I don't run the Untapped app and manually record my match-ups, kind of a competitive habit of keeping tech hidden. It's definitely been feeling really strong, and very consistent. I'll have to test the 3rd Eluge over Tolarian Terror when I pull another one, seems like it's the move for sure . Not sure about 24 lands over 23+Shore Up, Shore Up is too good with turn 4 Eluge and 23 lands is plenty with our card selection.

@@MTGJoe Yeah, that's the list I'm thinking of. Seems to slow for aggro, I may be wrong. But those turn 3 kills are a bitch... You need to be on the play and have helix.. At least that's what I think, maybe the new white sweeper will be good in the niv domain. :)
